Two prolapses
The results from the X-ray came today, and it showed that I have two prolapses in the lumbosacral columna (lower back). My doctor gave me a few more painkillers, but told me to lower the dose because the side effects can be quite unpleasant.
So - on Friday I have my first ever appointment with a physiotherapist. And maybe I will try the barefoot running recommended by Justin.

Sorry to hear about your back. Good luck with your therapy.
I'm a strong believer that running shoes, and shoes in general are bad for our backs because they alter the natural human gait. They make us unnaturally strike our heels on the ground, which sends shockwaves up our bodies. Do a Google search on the subject of barefooting and judge for yourself :)
After I posted my previous comment it occurred to me that you live in Norway and it's gonna get real cold there real soon. I, living in San Diego, don't have that problem, as far as running barefoot is concerned.
Some barefooters wear these in situations when barefooting just isn't an option: Vibram FiveFingers. I've never worn them, so I can't personally recommend them.
So, what is a prolapse? A slipped disc? Did the doctor say when you can run again?
Justin
Yeah, a prolapse is a slipped disc, and two prolapses are two slipped discs...
The snow is coming to town tomorrow (so the meterologists say), so I guess barefoot can be a little bit too cold. But the theory behind the barefoot running seems interesting, although I at a certain point during the race felt like I was running without shoes (and that hurt like he...)
Anyway - no running for a while, says the therapist, although she hasn´t ruled it out! :-)
